What is Executive Coaching?

Coaching focused on who you are, as a person, how that impacts your leadership & exploring how you can enhance your leadership impact.


This 1-2-1 relationship provides you with the safe space to explore all topics leadership & how it impacts business performance.

Who is Executive Coaching for?

Executive coaching is for leaders and managers who are open to exploring who they are, understanding their impact on others, their strengths & blind spots and trying different approaches to situations.  

Do I really have to invest in all my managers?

Small businesses struggle with "if we invest in them, will they leave?" I get it!


But here's the reality...don't invest in them, they're definitely staying & not improving.

Invest in them & they leave, you still got an improved performance for a while.


But if they do leave, why are they leaving?

What Will Change?

There's no guarantees, because its up to the individual, but if they're open to it, their mindset will change.  This is key, because behaviours come from mindset.  Change the mindset, change the behaviours, change the outcomes. 

How Will the Business Benefit?

This investment needs to return tangible benefits to your business.  To ensure the individual, you & the coach are aligned, the initial session includes a 3-way contracting segment, so we're all clear on the business needs & how these link to coaching goals. 


The individual may have a couple of their own goals too, and these can be incorporated. 


The coach holds the final set of agreed coaching goals & supports the manager to achieve them.

How is coaching delivered?

Typically, virtually but can be in-person in Dublin area.

Is Coaching Soft?

No. 

Straight out, coaching is not for those in denial or who have zero resilience.  Executive coaching is about the individual & how they show up. Tears have been known to happen, as realisations dawn.

What if a Person Disengages?

Coaching only works if the manager is open to it & honest with their coach. Chemistry fit is important. If someone doesn't want to engage, don't invest in them and if there's a performance issue, address it.  If they start & then disengage, talk to them, to find out what is happening. It could be a rapport or a difficulty thing. 

Will You be Sending a Report?

No.  Coaching is confidential so you won't get an update report on each manager.  A trend across several people might be shared but don't ask for "who said what".  Amnesia will kick in.

That said, coachees are often encouraged to bring topics to their line manager (you), to discuss.  So let them.
