Training Needs Analysis

As Training Manager, I was often asked for specific training for an individual. Upon probing, it often transpired that the original request masked other issues, the actual causes.

For example, upon probing a request for time management training for someone who was rushed around (symptom), it transpired that the behaviour was due to not understanding their objectives (cause). An objective setting meeting provided clarity and focus.

Research shows that 40% of ineffective training is due to poor diagnostics. Good Training Needs Analysis (TNA) probes beneath the surface and identifies underlying issues. The Training Needs Analysis (TNA) outcome then informs the training.

See our Training Packages section for more details on Training Needs Analysis (TNA).
